> New BMW M3 Touring should hit the road early 2022
> First production estate version of the BMW M3
> YesAuto’s spy shots of test mule in Munich
> Prices expected to be around £78,000
It’s the body style fans of fast practice cars have been crying out for. BMW once made an E46 M3 Touring concept car, but it never made production – shame. This new car is based on the latest M3, but will sport a body ideal for carrying a dog. Audi’s RS4 Avant and Mercedes’ C63 Estate should be wary.
We expect the new BMW M3 Touring to make use of the same engine as its M3 saloon counterpart. Assuming the UK will only get the car in competition guise, the twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre engine should pack a 503bhp punch. Expect a 0-62mph sprint close to 4 seconds.
We don’t know for sure, but we’d guess early 2022 with the car maybe being revealed in full at the tail-end of this year. BMW teased the new model a while ago, and it looks like development is at an advanced stage.
Obviously, we don’t know the actual price yet, but we can speculate. Currently, a BMW M3 Competition will set you back £74,815 – no small sum. We’d expect there to be a slight premium for the estate, leading us to estimate a sticker price of about £78k.
