> Facelifted BMW 8 Series Convertible spotted
> New look for 2022
> New infotainment screen
> Expected to start from around £80,000
It's BMW's sleek 8 Series, which is shortly due a mid-life facelift. We've already seen the Coupe and GranCoupe variants out and about, but here we can see the Convertible 8 Series with its new face for the first time.
The 8 Series is one of BMW's most expensive models, being its flagship Coupe, four-door coupe and open-top.
We can see here that the front and rear have undergone some revisions, including a new front bumper, grille design and headlights. At the rear, there's a new bummer and taillight design too.
Interestingly, we've also had a glimpse at the car's infotainment screen, which seems to be a different size and shape to the one the 8 Series currently has.
The 8 Series Convertible should continue to be powered by the same engines, despite its facelift.
That means BMW's 3.0-litre straight-six 840i should still feature, which produces 333hp. Then there's a diesel of the same size and cylinders that puts out 340hp and more torque.
Above those engines sits a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol called the M850i, producing 530hp. Lastly, there sits the range-topping M8 Convertible, with the same V8 petrol engine, but boosted to 625hp.
Rear or all-wheel-drive will be available depending on the model and all 8 Series models will come with an eight-speed automatic gearbox.
This facelifted 8 Series should be revealed and on sale before the end of 2021.
This current BMW 8 Series Convertible starts from around £80,000 for the 840i. We expect that prices will stay largely the same, although there might be a small jump of around £2000 or so across the range.
