2023 Porsche Macan EV: what is it?

There’s an all-new Porsche Macan on the way – good news for the German manufacturer as it has become one of its most successful models ever. However, we are ushering in a new electrified era, and so the next-gen car will feature a pure EV option.

Our spy shots show a prototype of the Macan EV completing extensive testing, something that’s said to have incorporated over 1.9 million miles so far. Its thin layer of camouflage does little to hide the adoption of a front-end more aligned with the Porsche Taycan.

2023 Porsche Macan EV: what is it powered by?

Drivetrain details are still being kept secret, but it will likely mimic that of the Taycan. This new PPE platform will feature all-wheel drive for most models, but an entry-level rear-drive model is a possibility.

The Macan range is expected to go from a base model, all the way up to a potential 700bhp Turbo S variant. A battery range of over 300 miles should be possible.

2023 Porsche Macan EV: when will it be on sale?

The all-new Porsche Macan will be revealed in 2022, with the electric car being shown for the first time later that year. Prospective owners will be able to place a deposit soon after, and cars should hit UK roads in early 2023.

2023 Porsche Macan EV: how much will it cost?

We are pretty far away from knowing how much a Macan EV will cost, but looking at the current lineup of Porsche’s baby SUV, we think it could start at £65,000. A Turbo S model will surely eclipse £100,000.
