Not everyone wants the full-fat Mercedes-AMG hot hatchback, but that’s not to say people don’t fancy a punchy Merc. Enter the A35, the little brother to the most potent A45.
An updated car has been spotted testing with revision to staying and interior tech expected. A larger screen hosting the latest Mercedes-Benz MBUX interface will likely be a key update.
The updated 2022 Mercedes-AMG A35 will be powered by the same turbocharged four-cylinder engine as before, although we do expect a modest power bump from 302bhp to match rivals.
Power will be sent to all four wheels via a seven-speed automatic gearbox. Expect a 0-62mph time of 4.7 seconds.
There’s no official word on the new baby AMG, but considering that these revisions will focus on the visuals and onboard tech more than anything, development should be swift.
It’s fair to expect an early 2022 debut with cars arriving in the UK soon after.
This updated car will likely come with a modest price increase, so expect the entry-level AMG to arrive at around £38,000 in 2022.
