> More rugged A3 expected early 2022
> First Allroad model for Audi A3
> YesAuto’s spy shots capture test mule on German roads
> Prices expected to be around £30,000
The Audi A3 Allroad has felt like an inevitability for a long time now. The A1 Citycarver paved the way for high-riding Audi hatchbacks, and the A4 Allroad presents a more rugged take on a premium model. This A3 Allroad bridges the gap.
Riding higher and featuring underbody cladding, the A3 Allroad will be pitched as a hatchback for the more adventurous.
The Audi A3 Allroad should offer the broadest set of powertrain options of all Allroad models. Mimicking the regular A3 hatch, a series of petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid engine variants will likely be on the menu.
Also expect to see the option of air suspension that will be capable of raising the A3’s ride height.
This test mule looks pretty complete to us, but it is unlikely that Audi will reveal the car before the end of 2021. An early 2022 window should be reasonable with customer cars being delivered by Q2.
This is the first time Audi has offered an A3 Allroad, so pricing at this point is more educated guesswork. Looking at the Audi A4 and how the Allroad pricing compares with the standard car, we estimate the A3 Allroad will cost in the region of £30,000.
