Who doesn’t love the Dacia Duster? When it comes to value for money, this SUV is unrivalled, and beyond simply being cheap, it’s actually rather good. A Commercial model is offered for those wanting a van without the typical commercial drawbacks.
In comparison to the traditional van offerings, the Duster is considerably more stylish with its SUV form factor. Just like its passenger counterpart, this new Duster gets the same external revisions such as Dacia’s new grille and lighting signatures. There’s also more choice with various alloy wheel designs available depending upon trim level.
The passenger compartment of the Duster Commercial is much the same as the regular car on which it is based. Depending upon trim you’ll find niceties such as air conditioning, touchscreen infotainment system, shortcut buttons on the steering wheel, and some supportive seats.
For the most part, life in the front of the Duster Commercial is akin to the passenger car. The same goes for generous levels of standard equipment with things such as 16-inch wheels, electric windows and Bluetooth coming at no cost. However, stepping up to a Comfort model grants an 8-inch touchscreen, reversing camera, alloy wheels, and chrome detailing.
As great as having an SUV-based van is, these are the metrics that really matter for a working vehicle. The new Dacia Duster Commercial lacks rear seats, instead offering 1,623 litres of cargo space. Up to 503kg of weight can be placed in the back, with blanked windows for security on all models.
A flat wooden load floor has been fitted to make loading bulky items easier, while a bulkhead has been installed to keep passengers separate from any shifting cargo.
There’s a quartet of engine options for the 2021 Dacia Duster Commercial. The petrol range kicks off with an 88bhp 1.0-litre engine, progresses to a 1.3-litre four-cylinder with 128bhp, and finishes with a 148bhp variant. All of these engines are said to be capable of around 45mpg. Manual or automatic gearboxes are available.
Just one diesel engine is paired with this new Duster, a 113bhp four-cylinder that also permits an all-wheel drive option should you need it. In its most efficient guise, 53mpg is claimed.
The Dacia Duster Commercial starts at £12,795 excluding VAT – or £15,354 with tax. A top-spec car will set you back £17,595 ex-VAT.
You should see Duster Commercials on UK roads this December.
